Waterside Boomerang Bags

Boomerang Bags are cloth bags made from upcycled fabric to reduce our reliance on plastic bags.

The waterside group is part of the wider New Forest Boomerang Bag group, this means we are part of the group numbering system to record how many bags have been made.  We started at 1001 and at the time of writing have almost reached number 2000. This means we have made 1000 bags so far!

The bags are handed out for free at the Hythe community fridge, and the waterside clothes swaps.  We would love to have enough bags being made to have them in some of the local independent shops, but we have a way to go with that.

We would love to get more people making bags. No matter what your skill level, never sewn a thing - to skilled sewing master we would love you to join in, why not come along to one of our monthly bag making sessions at Blackfield Baptist Church

If you would like us to run a  bag making session for your group please drop us a line.

Some of the one of a kind bags including those made from donated clothing we sell on a pay as you feel basis to bring in  funds for purchasing thread, more 2nd hand machines, and support the  other community projects in the New Forest Aquaponics CIC family of projects.

You can see what we have for sale on our online shop https://watercressqueen.company.site/products

- these will be updated when we have new bags so keep checking the facebook page.
